Offices Held

  1. Counselor to the President (2017-)

Statements

  1. I’m a person in the West Wing who’s never actually uttered the words “fake news,” “enemy of the people,” “opposition party.” I don’t speak that way; I think we need a full and free press in our nation.

    Fact Checks

    • Conway has, however, classified at least a few stories as “fake news,” writing on Twitter last year and in March
    • While she does not use the term often, Conway has said “fake news” on some occasions.
  2. And today’s actions had zero to do with that. Today’s actions have everything to do with what Mr. Rosenstein, the Deputy Attorney General, who oversees the FBI Director…

    Claims

Trump Fired Comey Only at Request of DoJ Officials
Trump later admitted he decided to fire Comey first, then sought justification from DoJ.
    1. Sarah Huckabee Sanders Sarah Huckabee Sanders
    2. Sean Spicer Sean Spicer
  3. I was told yesterday, this is the longest that the nation has gone without a Secretary of the Treasury, at least in modern times. If it’s not the longest, it’s darn close to it.

    Fact Checks

    • The United States didn’t have a president-appointed, Senate-confirmed secretary of Treasury for 34 days in 2013. Mnuchin’s confirmation could drag out longer, but Conway made this claim on Feb. 2, 14 days after inauguration.
  4. I bet, there was very little coverage — I bet it’s brand new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized — and they were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre. I mean, most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered.

    Claims

    Bowling Green Massacre
    It never happened.

Kellyanne Conway has made this claim at least 2 times, from 2017-01-29 thru 2017-02-02.

    Fact Checks

    • Most importantly, there was no “massacre” in or around Bowling Green that was either carried out or attempted.

In addition, while the two men were charged with serious crimes and were sentenced accordingly, it’s important to remember that everything that happened was part of a sting operation by the FBI. This means that the people of Bowling Green were not endangered at any point, and that the entire incident can be viewed as a law-enforcement success.

  5. He did that because two Iraqi nationals came to this country, joined ISIS, traveled back to the Middle East to get trained and refine their terrorism skills, and come back here, and were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre of taking innocent soldiers’ lives away.

    Claims

    Bowling Green Massacre
    It never happened.

Kellyanne Conway has made this claim at least 2 times, from 2017-01-29 thru 2017-02-02.

  6. Here’s the fact: The No. 1 source of income into Mexico are Mexicans working here and sending the money back.

    Claims

#1 Source of Income Into Mexico Are Mexicans Working in U.S. and Sending Money Home
U.S. purchases of Mexican goods are more than an order of magnitude larger.

    Fact Checks

    • A projected $27 billion influx of cash from the United States into Mexico is nothing to sneeze at, and this money makes a real difference in the lives of many Mexicans who have relatives living and working in the United States, whether legally or illegally.

However, contrary to what Conway said, remittances do not rank No. 1 on the U.S.-Mexico income flow list. Rather, U.S. purchases of Mexican goods – to say nothing of services – are more than 10 times the size of remittances. And remittances also trail foreign direct investment as a source of income in Mexico.

  7. 306. Landslide. Blowout. Historic.

    Claims

Trump's 2016 Victory Was an Electoral College Landslide
The margin was within the lowest 25% of all elections, and the lowest 33% since World War II.
